I am deeply committed to helping women and children who are in need, especially in our own backyard of Harrisburg. The YWCA and the B’nai B’rith are two organizations on the front lines of building a brighter and safer future for our children and the elderly. When I hear stories of a mother leaving home with her children in fear for her safety, and the risk and selflessness that decision requires, I am inspired to work harder to make sure we support and build a safer community for all.
As the founder of FMA Advisory and a successful entrepreneur, Peter LaBella understands that making smart investment decisions is critical for long-term success.
Mr. LaBella’s extensive career in financial management provides him unparalleled knowledge of the market and an in-depth understanding of significant issues that impact investment strategies. With expertise in business pension planning, estate planning and tax planning, he works closely with both individual investors and private companies. His professional experience and credentials allow him to effectively manage a diverse list of client portfolios.
A veteran of the financial planning field, Mr. LaBella was among the first to become a fee-only asset manager. In doing so, he eliminated the conflict of interest associated with commission-based investments and ensured that his clients’ assets would not be eroded by the high cost of packaged financial products.
A participant in Connecticut General’s prestigious training program early in his career, Mr. LaBella has developed a keen investment policy throughout his 30-year career that provides long-term gains for clients. This philosophy, coupled with his understanding of client needs, has proven invaluable to the success and satisfaction of FMA clients.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from Hiram Scott College in Nebraska and pursued graduate studies in finance at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Mr. LaBella is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®).
Mr. LaBella has a deeply held commitment to improving the quality of life in the community and is an active supporter of many nonprofit organizations. His community leadership efforts include serving as President of the board of B’nai B’rith Abe Cramer Housing Project for the last ten years. He also served on the board of Hospice of Central PA and as Chairman of the Hospice Tennis Classic fundraising committee for over a decade.
I am inspired by people who contribute to their communities in order to help other people, with no motive beyond being a good citizen. Very often these actions are achieved by an Army of One - a great reminder that we all can make a difference regardless of our age, knowledge or resources. Although I spend most of my workdays immersed in economic and financial information, I’m also inspired by the energy, drive, positivity and passion of my two sons and daughter.

I am one of nine siblings and love the energy, activity and connections that a large extended family provides. The highlight of my weekends is spending precious time with my 20 nieces and nephews, whether it’s boating at Lake Raystown or shopping or just talking about their school day. I never tire of their innocence and sense of adventure. Spending so much time with young people has helped me develop patience, compassion and positivity - all traits that I hope our clients observe in us, too.
